The Crew Chief directs a field survey crew and is responsible for successfully and accurately completing various types of survey projects. Leadership abilities and adaptability to changing project needs and schedulingare required. The Crew Chief reports to the Director of Surveying and is able to complete assigned projects efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Manages a field survey crew during daily operations to efficiently collect field data
- Maintains a safe and organized work environment for crew members and equipment
- Maintains organized and detailed field notes
- Delivers accurate and precise field data to the office Trains survey crew in survey and mapping methods, equipment use, and field safety procedures
- 3-5 years of experience in land surveying
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency with data collection equipment
- AutoCAD experience (preferred)
- FDOT experience and knowledge of FDOT surveying/mapping procedures (preferred)
- CST certification (preferred)
